Welcome to my campaign page! My name is Ronald J. "Ron" Davis Sr., and I am excited to announce my candidacy for City Council in New Iberia. I have lived in New Iberia for 35+ years with a deep-rooted passion for our community, serving and advocating for the residents of our city. As a concerned citizen of New Iberia, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities we face. My public services and community development background has equipped me with the skills and experience necessary to address these issues head-on. Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to furthering my education and continuously learning, all while striving to make a positive impact. My platform focuses on economic development, strengthening infrastructure, mental health, and building safe and clean neighborhoods for all. I believe in transparent, accountable governance and am dedicated to representing the voices and concerns of all our citizens. Together, we can build a brighter future for New Iberia. Our youth are the future of New Iberia, and it is our responsibility to ensure they grow up in a safe and supportive environment. The rise in youth violence is a call to action for our entire community.
As your city council representative, I will implement comprehensive programs that provide mentorship, after-school activities, and mental health support to our young people. Together, we can create peaceful paths for our youth, where they are guided by positive influences and empowered to make constructive choices. Let's invest in our future by fostering a culture of peace, respect, and opportunity for all of New Iberia’s children.
Prioritizing Mental Health in Our Community
I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and it’s time we prioritize it in our community. We all face challenges, and having access to mental health support services can make a significant difference in the lives of our residents.
I propose introducing comprehensive mental health support services, including counseling, support groups, and educational resources. These services will be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or background, ensuring that no one feels alone in their struggles. By fostering a culture of openness and support, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage individuals to seek help.
Revitalizing New Iberia
New Iberia deserves a fresh approach to economic development that directly benefits our community. I’m committed to revitalizing our city by supporting local businesses, creating job growth and placement centers, and investing in education and workforce development. These initiatives will connect residents with valuable employment opportunities and stimulate our local economy. Modernizing our infrastructure and promoting affordable housing will lay the foundation for lasting prosperity and a higher quality of life for everyone. Through inclusion, we can transform New Iberia into a thriving, resilient community where every resident has the chance to succeed

By prioritizing these essential upgrades, we can ensure that New Iberia becomes a more efficient, connected, and prosperous community.
